HPS Made A Success Of The First Interbanking Transaction Within Western Africa Economic Community (UEMOA)
HPS team announces the successful deployment of the first inter-banking transaction through CTMI-UEMOA, the regional inter-banking switch centre of the Western Africa Economic and Monetary Community, in the fringe of the General Assembly of the GIM-UEMOA, the regional inter-banking processing group, held the 15th of December 2006 in Bamako, Mali.
This first transaction consisted of an on-line inter-banking debit transaction via a GIM-UEMOA labelled card of the BST bank (Banque Sénégalo-Tunisienne) of Senegal. It has been processed within the CTMI-UEMOA centre throughout an ATM of BDM (Banque de dévelopment du Mali) of Mali.
Based on PowerCARD solution, The CTMI platform serves 8 countries of the Western Africa Economic and Monetary Community (Benin, Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Niger, Senegal and Togo). It allows the citizens of this region to use their bank card for debit transactions and payment, regardless of their residence country.
